Supported employment is founded on the belief that anyone can work if he/she is given the right support. HRC and the Division of Rehabilitation Services work together to assist people who have a handicapping condition that limits their ability to obtain and maintain competitive employment. Staff will provide on-the-job training for people who have been hired by an employer. Individuals in these programs are supported through each step of the employment ladder.
HRC staff helps individuals develop job skills and refine personal strengths to gain paid employment in the community. Once a job is secured through Supported Employment, HRC job coaches assist individuals on-site as needed. For individuals who do not need a job coach, assistance with competitive job placement is provided.
